blackout fondue lunch

we had a blackout this afternoon, so my ingenious husband takes out the fondue set and improvises with a stainless steel skillet to make fondue for lunch. he used Oregon honeybeer, double creme brie, and monterey jack cheese for the fondue with some corn starch and a little dry sherry.

we still have to practice our fondue technique as the consistency of the fondue was not 100% satisfactory. but still tasted good with sourdough bread, Gala apples and baby carrots for dips.

here's a closeup of the Oregon honeybeer used in this fondue.

I love fondue! This recipe sounds really good!
I don't think I ever had fondue. Is fondue sweet?
How long was the blackout?
amoret, most cheese fondues are savory. you can also make chocolate fondue and dip marshmallow or fruit like strawberry. i think the blackout lasted about 3 hrs or so...
